Survey Weighting & Complex Samples

Open Qantly ↗

Understand the method. Use it with confidence.

Estimate weighted means or proportions with effective sample size and design-effect context. Qantly runs the method against your active analysis context and returns structured results for review and interpretation.

01

When to use it

Use this tool to prepare survey exports, combine them with approved reference data, or analyze structured and open-ended field responses.
Use it only when the selected variables and study design match the method's requirements.

02

How to use it

  1. Open the tool from the Qantly Tools panel.
  2. Confirm the active dataset and analysis session.
  3. Set Outcome (Required): Numeric outcome or binary survey question.
  4. Set Survey weight (Required): Probability or calibrated survey weight.
  5. Set Estimate (Optional): Set estimate.
  6. Set Positive response (Optional): Required for a proportion; exact response value treated as positive.
  7. Set Cluster / PSU (Optional): Optional; reported for design documentation only.
  8. Set Strata (Optional): Optional; reported for design documentation only.
  9. Review optional or advanced settings and keep defaults unless your design requires a change.
  10. Run the tool, inspect warnings and diagnostics, then save or export the result with its assumptions.

How to interpret results

Review match rates, transformed values, assumptions, sample sizes, and missing responses before interpreting findings. Survey results describe the collected sample and should be considered alongside the sampling design and fieldwork context.
