Survey Normalizer

Open Qantly ↗

Understand the method. Use it with confidence.

Clean survey exports, including multi-select answers and mixed count values. Qantly runs the method against your active analysis context and returns structured results for review and interpretation.

01

When to use it

Use this tool to prepare survey exports, combine them with approved reference data, or analyze structured and open-ended field responses.
Use it only when the selected variables and study design match the method's requirements.

02

How to use it

  1. Open the tool from the Qantly Tools panel.
  2. Confirm the active dataset and analysis session.
  3. Set Multi-select columns to explode (Optional): Columns containing comma-joined multi-select answers, e.g. 'a) X, b) Y'.
  4. Set Count columns to standardize (Optional): Numeric-answer columns where 'No'/'N/A'/'Nil' should resolve to 0.
  5. Set Additional null tokens (comma-separated) (Optional): Extra tokens to treat as explicit zero, beyond the built-in defaults.
  6. Set Save cleaned output as a new dataset (Optional): If off, returns a preview only; if on, saves the cleaned table as a new derived dataset (original dataset is left untouched).
  7. Review optional or advanced settings and keep defaults unless your design requires a change.
  8. Run the tool, inspect warnings and diagnostics, then save or export the result with its assumptions.
03

How to interpret results

Review match rates, transformed values, assumptions, sample sizes, and missing responses before interpreting findings. Survey results describe the collected sample and should be considered alongside the sampling design and fieldwork context.
